  About the Society

Bihar Orthopaedic Association was founded at Patna in 1966. Prof Dr B Mukhopadhyay was the founder president. The society has been registered vide registration no. 321/ 1981-82. The office of society is situated in IMA building, south of Gandhi maidan, Patna 1. The office of president and secretary is in the association building. The Journal of Orthopaedic Diseases and Traumatology is an official journal of Bihar Orthopaedic Association.

The association aim to promote and develop the practice of orthopaedics in the state of Bihar as per International and National Standards. This can be achieved by scientific deliberations, research, and cooperation among the clinicians, scientists and others involved in the field of orthopaedics. The association is involved with academic enhancement of its members and associate members through CMEs, Conferences, Fellowships, and financial grants to needed. The association is actively engaged in public awareness programmes, and inter-speciality interactions.

Journal of Orthopaedic Diseases and Traumatology, a publication of Bihar Orthopaedic Association, is a peer-reviewed print + online 3 Issues journal. The journal's full text is available online at http://www.jodt.org. The journal allows free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive final accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant institutional / subject-based repository.

Digital Archiving

Wolters Kluwer Medknow provides for long-term digital preservation through two primary partnerships, Portico and CLOCKSS.

Portico is a leading digital preservation service worldwide. The content is preserved as an archival version and is not publically accessible via Portico, but is provided when required under specific conditions, such as discontinuation of the collection or catastrophic failure of the website.

CLOCKSS will enable any library to maintain their own archive of content from Wolters Kluwer Medknow and other publishers, with minimal technical effort and using cheaply available hardware.

Ahead of Print policy

Articles published online under the Ahead of Print model are considered published and can be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. Wolters Kluwer Medknow has a policy that changes will not be made after publication of an article without following accepted procedures for making corrections to the scientific record.

Advertisements

While advertisements are crucial to this journal to be able to keep all content free for everyone, ethical considerations are in place to ensure the integrity of the journal and its content:

  • "Pop-up" and "banner" ads appear on a random, rotating basis. The advertiser has no control or input over the pages where their ads appear.
  • The Editorial Board has full and final approval over the content of all advertisements.
  • Advertisers will never be shown any manuscripts or other content prior to publication.

  Scope of the journal

The Journal of Orthopaedic Diseases and Traumatology (JODT) invites manuscripts by authors covering the technical and clinical studies related to health, ethical and social issues in the field of  orthopaedic diseases, traumatology and orthopaedic rehabilitation.

JODT invites scientific submissions from authors in the following categories Original Research (Evaluation study, Prospective study, Retrospective study, Comparative study and invitro study), Systematic reviews, Epidemilogical reports, Case reports, Short communication, Letter to Editor, etc.

The journal provides opportunity for publication of basic sciences, physiology and pathology related to orthopaedic conditions. It also aim to publish the clinical studies done on frontier issues in orthopaedics. It is committed to help in development of sub specialities in orthopaedics like basic orthopaedics, traumatology, spine, paediatric orthopaedics, arthroscopy, arthroplasty, hand and wrist, ankle and foot, orthopaedic neurology, infections, orthopaedic oncology, pain management, sports injury, shoulder, knee, hip, pelviacetabular conditions and muscular pathologies.

The area of research in orthopaedics and applied mechanics related to orthopaedic implant and instruments and its orthopaedic implications are also under the scope of this journal.
