Coming with our next issue and the last of year 2019, I feel elated with the response from authors and readers. Scientific journals have an important role in development of art and practice of medicine. They need unbiased dissemination of knowledge and its practice. With this view we have included three articles and three case reports.
Coccydynia is an unsolved problem for physicians and patients. We still don't know the exact treatment protocol. The authors have nicely elaborated on this issue with various modalities of treatments.
The battery operated drills used in orthopaedics are available in high end prices as well as at low price range. The quality of drill, its attachments, its durability and efficiency has been discussed by the authors. These drills have issues of sterilization, speed, power, attachments and price. It has been well investigated by the authors. Our editorial board doesn't endorse any one brand.
The article on short term outcome of dual mobility cups in total hip replacement in our population for secondary osteoarthritis has been well discussed. This article has nicely investigated the issue in our population as squatting and sitting cross leg are necessary positions. Dual mobility cups provide this freedom.
Elbow dislocation in children with association of forearm bone fracture is rare. With change in population characteristics and changes in mode of trauma we keep facing undefined injury patterns. Management of these injuries need reporting for further investigation and discussion.
A case report on osteochondroma of pubis is rare presentation. Its approach and exposure needs deliberation. Osteochondroma needs removal only when it produces functional deficit or neurovascular problems. In females these tumours can produce difficulty in parturition or retention of pregnancy. Hence in child bearing age group these tumours needs removal.
In the last very interesting case of jig failure has been reported. These are unusual problems faced by orthopaedic surgeons in clinical practice. Due to use of loan instruments, repeated use of instruments without recheck and improper use they fail. It can be prevented by preventive check of all loading instruments like jig in interlock nailing.
Last but not the least, we all feel sad due to demise of one of our senior most member and retired Professor and Head of department of Orthopaedics of Patna Medical College, Professor Dr. Hare Ram Singh. He was a great teacher and gentle man. We will always feel his deficiency in our life, association and orthopaedic practice.
I hope the readers will find this issue informative. I request our readers to send their letters to editor and queries.
